Halliford Colts are taking part in Silent Support Weekend 25-26th February 2023. Let’s turn down the noise and see the players step up.
Following the success of the first Silent Weekend, the FA received feedback from over 3,000 people and have tailed the second weekend to this. This time, coaches will be permitted to coach throughout the match, with parents and supporters showing their backing from the side-lines through applause only, This allows the players to not only step-up, but feel they can get support from their coach, if they need to. In the FA’s own Words:
Silent Support Weekend is the chance for young players to find their voice and make their own decisions on the pitch this time guided by their coach. Help us by turning the noise down on the side line to see the players step up. Let them play. Let them lead. Let them learn. More details can be found here.
At Halliford Colts, we are always seeking to do the best to support our players’ learning and development and apply the latest thoughts and best practices from the FA. For us Silent Weekend is just one example of this and whilst it won’t be the easiest thing for the Coaches, Managers, Parents or Spectators we will be participating in it for the good of our players.
