Today, our Halliford Colts Under-11 team have been crowned Champions of Europe, after being asked to represent England in the Åland Cup in Finland and winning it!
The tournament is Europe’s largest eight-a-side event, exclusively for under-11 girls and boys, playing matches 40 minutes long.
The team flew through their group stage, topping their group, incredibly winning 2-0, 3-2, 5-0, 6-0, 8-0 and 14-0. This was followed by 2-0, 3-2 and 3-1 victories in the last 16, quarters and semis respectively. Despite going into Half-Time a goal down, the team won the final 3-1 in what was an amazing weekend of football.
